Below are some general tips on how you might prepare for your USA Hire assessments.
1 | Plan a date and time
-
Completion Deadline: All assessments must be completed before your completion deadline. You may need up to 3 hours depending on the number of assessments you'll need to complete.
- Schedule: Set aside a time on your calendar to complete your assessments. You may find it less stressful if you complete your assessment before the day of your deadline in case you encounter issues.
2 | Prepare your environment
-
System Requirements: Verify your testing device meets the system requirements to complete the assessments.
-
Internet Connection: Ensure your testing device and location have access to a reliable high-speed internet connection.
- Quiet Location: Find a quiet place to take the assessments where you will not be interrupted.
3 | Complete the practice assessments
-
Practice Tests: Complete the USA Hire Practice Tests. To best replicate your actual testing experience, take the practice tests on the device and in the location you intend to use for the actual assessments.
- Reasonable Accommodation: Determine if you need to request a Reasonable Accommodation. If after completing the practice tests you believe you'll need a reasonable accommodation, do not begin your actual assessments. Instead, request a reasonable accommodation.
4 | Take your assessment
-
Rest and Nutrition: Get a good night of sleep. Eat a nutritious meal and stay hydrated before taking the assessment.
-
Device Preparation: Ensure that your testing device is connected to a reliable high-speed internet connection and is connected to a power source (or has a fully charged battery).
-
Testing Space: Prepare your testing space with materials such as a pen/pencil, blank paper, and a calculator.
-
Quiet Environment: Take steps to ensure you're in a quiet location where you will not be interrupted.
-
Positive Thinking: Practice positive thinking and confidence-boosting affirmations.
-
Relaxation: Take a few moments before an assessment to focus on your breathing and relax tense muscles.
-
